The Ontario 55+ Summer Games and  Winter Games are a program of the sportalliance in partnership with the Ontario Senior Games Association. These events play an important role in sport development and participation for older adults in Ontario. It is an integral component of the Strategy for Amateur Sport in Ontario.

The Ontario Senior Games Association
is responsible for:

• The overall administration of the senior games program is the Province
• The selection of sanctioned events for both 55+ Summer and Winter Games
• The selection of the host Municipality and the Bid Process
• The primary liaison with the Games Organizing Committee
• The development of Technical and Policy Manuals for the Games
• Assisting the organization of the Actifest and Winterfest Provincial competitions

The Sport Alliance of Ontario is responsible for:

• The provision of financial assistance to the Host Municipality
• The negotiation of the contractual agreement with the Host Municipality
• A liaison with the Games Organizing Committee
• The hosting of a bidders meeting

55+ Winter Games will be in Huntsville February 26-28, 2013
